  • Mayor of Pafos (1997-2006).
  • President of the Pafos Sewage Board (1997-2006).
  • President of the Co-ordinating Committee of Pafos Political Parties and Organisations (1997-2006).
  • Pafos District Secretary of the Socialist Party EDEK (SK EDEK) (1996).
  • Member of the Committee on External Affairs and of the Committee on Education and Culture of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union and deputy member of the Joint Committee of the Committee of the Regions for Turkey of the European Union (1997-2006).
  • Observer to the Socialist Group at the European Parliament as the representative of KS EDEK.
  • Member of the KS EDEK Central Committee and of the KS EDEK Political Bureau.
