Robin Walker
Robin Caspar Walker (born 12 April 1978) is a British Conservative Party politician who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Worcester constituency. He was selected for the seat in August 2006.
Political Career[edit]
Robin Walker was elected MP for Worcester in 2010. Born in 1978, he grew up in Worcestershire, and has been involved in local politics from an early age as his father Peter served the City as its MP from 1961 to 1992.
In Parliament he has championed the cause of fairer funding in education, spoken up for local hospices and works with the Business Innovation and Skills team to improve opportunities for young people and businesses. He has campaigned for lower fuel duties, prevention of metal theft and better financial education for young people. He has served on the Welsh Affairs Select Committee and is an officer of a number of All Party Parliamentary Groups including Regeneration through Innovation, Trade out of Poverty and Education Governance.
Education[edit]
After gaining a scholarship in Ancient and Modern History from Balliol College, Oxford, he set up his own business on leaving university. From 2003 to 2010 he pursued a successful career in business, working his way up from executive to partner at Finsbury Group where he advised the Chief Executives and Finance Directors of some of the country's leading industrial companies on their communications with the press and the financial community.
