Mihail Raykov Mikov, is a Bulgarian politician who has been Chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) since 2014, he was born on the 16th June 1960 in the northwestern town of Kula.

Professional Experience and Political Career[edit]

He has been a parliament member since 1997. He was MP in the 38th, 39th, 40th and 41st National Assembly nominated by the northwestern district of Vidin. He was also Chairman of the National Assembly of Bulgaria since he was elected in 21 May 2013, and TheMinister of Interior in Sergei Stanishev's Government from 24 April 2008 to 29 July 2009.

Mikov was elected as Chairman of the BSP (Bulgarian Socialist Party) on 27 July 2014.

Education[edit]

Mikov holds an MA in Law from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. He is senior teaching assistant in Criminal Law at the same university.

Notable Works[edit]

Mikov specialises in human rights, tax law, and anti-corruption practices from universities in France, the US and Italy.
