Lord Garel-Jones

William Armand Thomas Tristan Garel-Jones, Baron Garel-Jones, PC (born 28 February 1941) is a British politician. A member of the Conservative Party, he served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Watford from 1979–97, before being made a life peer in 1997.

Political Career[edit]

Before joining the House of Lords Lord, Garel-Jones was a Member of the House of Commons for Watford between 1979 and 1997. He was a member of New Building Sub-Committee between 88-89, Accommodation and Administration Sub-Committee in 1989. Between 1982-82 he was Assistant Whip for HM Treasury, Lord Commissioner between 1983 and 86, Vice Chamberlain of the HM Household between 1986 and 1989. He then became Deputy Chief Whip and Treasurer, and following this he was Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office between 1990 and 1993.

Lord Garel-Jones was educated at the King's School, Canterbury.

Notable Work[edit]

Lord Garel-Jones has worked as a member of the International Advisory Board for Everis, a Chairman of UBS Latin America, a member of Advisory Board for Vodafone and the Managing Director of UBS.
