Lord Fowler
Peter Norman Fowler, Baron Fowler, (born 2 February 1938) is a British Conservative politician. He was made a Conservative life peer as Baron Fowler, of Sutton Coldfield.
Political Career[edit]
Before becoming a Lord, Peter Fowler was an MP for the Conservative Party. He was elected as an MP in 1970 to the Nottingham South Constituency, following this he was an MP for Sutton Coldfield until 2001, when he was granted a Peerage. He held a number of positions in Margaret Thatcher’s Government, namely: Secretary of State for Health and Social Security between 1981 and 1987, Secretary of State for Em-ployment between 1987-90, Party Chair 92-94, Shadow Secretary of State between both 97-98 and 98-99. Lord Fowler has also held a number of positions as a Lord, these include: the BBC Charter Review Commit-tee 2005-06, HIV and AIDS Committee 2010-11 a committee of which he then became Chairman between 2010-11.

He was educated at King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford and went on to study at Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
Notable Work[edit]
Before becoming a Politician Lord Fowler worked as a journalist for The Times. He is currently a Non-executive Director of the ABTA (travel association).
