Ints Dalderis

Ints Dalderis Latvian Minister of Culture speaks at The International Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy 2011

Ints Dālderis was born on the 10th of February 1971 in Jūrmala, Latvia. He is a clarinetist and politician of the New Era Party, formally the People's Party. He was Minister of Culture of Latvia from the 12th March 2009 to the 3rd November 2010.

Political career[edit]

Besides the National Symphony Orchestra, which he directed for four years, Mr. Dālderis has also worked closely with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and the Nordic Symphony Orchestra. In 2006, Mr. Dālderis began making the transition to politics and became a member the National Board of Culture, as well as joining the Council of the State Culture Capital Foundation. On March 12th 2009, he was appointed Latvia's Minister of Culture.

Education[edit]

After graduating from the esteemed Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, Mr. Dālderis joined the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra in 1999 as a clarinetist. Six years later he became the institution's director.
