He was born on 17 May 1959 in Užgiriai Village, Kelmė District, Lithuania. Daughter Akvilė, PhD in Social Science; son Martynas, student at the Lithuanian Sports University; grandson Gabrielis.

Titles: Honorary Coach of Lithuania, Expert Coach of Lithuania; rated the best coach in Lithuania (1997)

Awards: Third Class Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas

Publications: 15 academic articles and 2 sets of training material for students

Academic activities: numerous international and Lithuanian scientific conferences

Foreign languages: Russian, German, English

Interests: golf, reading, travelling and jazz
