Enel is an electric utility company founded in Italy. It has headquarters in Rome, Italy. The company is the second-largest in Europe measured by market capitalization and produces natural gas and electricity. The company has offices in Europe and Russia. A subsidiary of the company also has offices in Europe and Latin America.

Engagement in Cultural Diplomacy[edit]

Enel owns a Code of Ethics that defines the different general principles and which has to be respected by all the parties of the company. Enel has also written a Sustainability Report for 2012, in which all the policies about governance, environment, energy and strategy are mentioned and explained.

Enel has developed a diversity program that has four objectives: “developing in managers a style of leadership based on respect for and the creation of value from differences, promoting the creation of diversified and efficient work groups, managing people flexibly, paying attention to particular needs and guaranteeing the same opportunities for everyone” (Enel official website).

International Internship Programs[edit]

Enel Foundation launches the selections for its Internship Program 2014. An intern (position I1) will be assigned to one of the Research Areas of the Enel Foundation - either Socioeconomic Area or Sustainable Development & Innovation Area - while a second intern (position I2) will take part in the activities of the Institutional Capacity Building & Knowledge Dissemination Area.

Grants and Scholarships[edit]

“The Enel Lab” is the program, which selects and grants funds to young entrepreneurs from Italy and Spain in the field of clean energy technologies: benefits for the environment, small industries and employment” (Enel official website). Activities in the Field of Humanitarian Aid[edit]

Enel has signed an agreement with the UN’s World Food Program (WFP), in order to cooperate in the fight against world hunger and climate change.

Supporting Music & Visual Arts[edit]

Enel has organized an Orchestral Concert in the halls of the Italian Embassy in Moscow with the Academy of Santa Cecilia. This project aims to promote classical music in the diplomatic missions abroad of Russia and Italy. Enel is the Main Sponsor of the Venice Biennale and of the Macro Museum in Rome, which exhibits the prize-winning artworks of Enel Contemporanea, through which the Group showcases promising artists from across the world. The company supports information and cultural initiatives as well as sporting events, with particular attention to the territory and its needs and providing social and cultural opportunities for the general public.
