Dragoljub Popovic was born the 25th of July 1951 in Belgrade, Serbia. Since 26 January 2005, he is Judge of the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Serbia.


Biography[edit]

From 1976-1980 Dragoljub Popovic was a Lawyer in two commercial enterprises. In 1995 he started as a lecture of Legal and Constitutional History and Comparative Law. From 1998 to 2000 he was attorney at Law in a legal office in Belgrade. In 2001 he was a visiting Professor at the Institute of Federalism of the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. From 2001-2004 he became ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro to Switzerland. After that he was Pofessor of Constitutional Law and Comparative Law at the Business Law School of Belgrade for one year. Since 26 January 2005 has been a Judge of the European Court of Human Rights.


Education[edit]

Dragoljub Popovic studied law Studies at the University of Belgrade (1970- 1974). He got his Master of Laws at the University of Belgrade (1974-1976) and became Doctor of Law, University of Belgrade (1984). He also did his Third cycle degree in Comparative Law at the International Faculty of Comparative Law, Brussels (1985)
