Department of Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS), UK[edit]

The Department of Culture, Media and Sports, previously known as the Department for National Heritage, was formed in 1997. The department has the responsibility for promoting culture and sport in England, and to some extent the media throughout the UK. It is also responsible for the tourism, leisure and creative industries, and was the coordinating body during the 2012 Olympics Games. MP Maria Miller is currently heading the Department.
