David Soul
David Soul was born David Richard Solberg on August 28th of 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He is the son of a minister who was at one time serving as the religious affairs advisor to the U.S. High Commission in Berlin. Soul has been married five times (Mirriam "Mim" Solberg, Karen Carlson in 1968, Patti Carmel Sherman in 1980, Julia Nickson in 1987, Helen Snell 2010) and has five sons and a daughter.
Biography[edit]
David Soul attended to Augustanta College in the Uniersity of the Americas in Mexico City and the University of Minnesota where he started to study political science. While in Mexico he decided to follow his passion for musci. His first music show was in The 10 O'clock Scholar in Minneapolis. He studied acting with the Irene Daly School of The Actors Company with the Columbia Workshop in Hollywood.

David Sould devouted on television as “The Covered Man” in The Merv Griffin Show in 1962. After that, his first appearance on TV includes small roles in shows including: Flipper (1964), Mi bella genio (1965), All in the family (1971). In 1967 signed a contract with Columbia Pictures, and after it he played different roles such as Joshua Bolt in the television program “Here Come the Brides” (from September 25th of 1968 to September 18th of 1970). He co-starred as Arthur Hill's law partner on “Owen Marshall: Conselor at Law” (1972). David Soul was cast by Clint Eastwood in the film “Magnum Force”.
He portrayed Detective Ken Hutchinston (Hutch) on “Starsky ans Hutch” (1975-1979). In 1979 he directed three episodes of “Starsky ans Hutch”: "Huggy Can't Go Home" (1979), "Manchild on the Streets" (1977), and "Survival" (1977). During his professional career he made guest appearances on shows such as Star Trek, I Dream of Jeannie, McMillan & Wife, Cannon, Gunsmoke, All in the Family, etc.. In mini-series including Homeward Bound (1980), World War III and Rage (1980), etc.. In mid-to late 1970's Soul returned to his singing roots. Produced by Tony Macaulary, he recorded hits including "Don't Give Up on Us" (1976) which reached Number 1 in the US and the UK, and "Silver Lady" (1977) which also topped the charts in the UK. From 1976 until 1978, he had five UK Top 20 singles and two Top 10 albums. Until 1982 he toured extensively in the US, Europe, Far East and South America. During the eighties Soul played the night club owner Rick Blaine in the Casablanca NBC series and starred in the television adaptation of Ken Follett's wartime drama “The Key of Rebecca”directed by David Hemmings in 1985.
In the mid 1990's, David Soul moved to London, forging a new career on the West End stage. In 2003 he appeared as himself in the first series of the BBC's “Little Britain”. In 2004 he appeared in Agatha Christie's “Poirot”. On 12 July 2004, he took over playing the role of Jerry Springer in Jerry Springer - The Opera at the Cambridge Theatre in London. In August 2008, Soul appeared in the reality TV talent show-themed television series Maestro on BBC Two. He appeared as well with Fred Ward and Willem Dafoe in the film Farewell directed by Christian Carion. In 2010 and 2011, Soul appeared as the narrator on the BBC Radio 4 series iGod. In 2012, David Soul was featured in the hit album by "Fosseytango" singing on the track "Landlord". Until 2014 he has been playing short roles in movies and commercials, as well as participating as a guest in numerous TV shows.
