Anthony Martin Grosvenor Christopher

Anthony Martin Grosvenor Christopher, Baron Christopher known as Tony Christopher CBE, FRSA (born 25 April 1925) is a British businessman, trade unionist and tax official.

Political Career[edit]

Lord Christopher was created a Lord on the 30th July 1998. Within Parliament he has held a number of committee positions including: Tax Law Rewrite Bills (Joint Committee) 2007-08, EU Sub-Committee D - Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment 2004-06, Audit Committee 2002-08, Consolidation Bills (Joint Com-mittee)1999- and the EU Sub-Committee D - Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment 1998-02.

Education[edit]

Lord Christopher was educated at Cheltenham Grammar School and at the Westminster College of Com-merce.

Notable Work[edit]

In 1976 Tony Christopher was general secretary of Inland Revenue Staff Federation between 1976 and 1989, following this he became a trade unionist whilst working as chairman at the TU Fund Managers Ltd between 1983 and 2013. At the same time he worked as a self-employed Industrial and PR Consultant from 1989, a job which he presently still holds.
