Algis Kaseta (born 20 December 1962 in Mergežeryje, Lithuania) is a historian, Lithuanian politician and social activist. The first time he was elected to the Parliament was in 1996. From 2012 he has been a member in the National Security and Defence Committee from the liberal movement.

Political Career[edit]

He has actively participated in political activities since 1988. He was one of the founders of the Movement of Varėnos, and he also initiated the restoration of Lithuanian Riflemen's Union. He has been a member of the Parliament since 1996 and he has served in the National Security Committee (later - the National Security and Defense) as a Vice-Chairman of the committee. He also worked in the Drug Prevention and Regional Development Commission. He currently is an active member of the Lithuanian Riflemen Union. Since December 2012 he also works in the National Security and Defence Committee and in the Youth and Sports Commission.

Education[edit]

Kaseta studied in the Vilnius State University and in 1991, he graduated from the Faculty of History. He also went on to write several scientific articles.
