Alain Vidalies

Introduction[edit]

Alain Vidalies (born March 17, 1951) is a Socialist Party member of the French National Assembly and is currently the French Minister of Transport.

Political Career[edit]

Vidalies began his political career in 1983 when he became a Municipal Councillor for Saint-Pierre-du-Mont. In 1985, he became the Vice-President of the Municipal Council and in 1988, he became the Deputy Mayor of Mont-de-Marsan.

Vidalies was first elected to the French National Assembly in 1988 for the first district of Landes and remains in that position to this day. In addition, Vidalies was also Minister of Parliamentary Relations from 2012-2014. He currently serves as the French Minister of Transport.

Education[edit]

Vidalies studied law at the University of Bordeaux and specialized in Labour Law.
