Ulrich Freese

Ulrich Freese is a member of the SPD and was born on April 12, 1951 in Drevenack, Germany. He is a trade union secretary by profession.

Political Career[edit]

Freese has been a member of the SPD since 1970. Between 1989 and1990, he worked as a city councillor in Herten/Westphalia. He was the acting SPD sub-district chairman from 1993 to 2003 in the district of Spree-Neisse. From 1994 to 2004, Freese was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament. He has been a member of the Spree-Neisse district council since 2008.

Education[edit]

Freese is a qualified shop fitter. From 1976 to present he has been working as a trade union secretary at IG BE. From 2003 to 2013, he was the deputy chair of the IG BCE trade union.
