Thomas Feist

Dr. Thomas Feist is a cultural adviser by profession and was born on April 8, 1965, in Leipzig, Germany.

Political Career[edit]

Feist has been a member of the CDU since 2007, and a candidate for the Bundestag since 2009. He is chairman of the German-Israeli Society in Leipzig and the Parliamentary Forum Central and East Europe since 2010.

Education[edit]

Feist first learned to become a heating installer, and worked as such from 1983 to 1993. From 1993 to 1995 he worked as a pedagogue for socially disadvantaged children and those with learning difficulties. Since 1995 he has been working as an cultural adviser and referent for cultural events, music, and intercultural work. From 1995 to 2000 he studied musicology, sociology, and theology. From 2003 to 2005, he earned the title of Dr. Phil.

Notable Work[edit]

Feist is a member of the Society for Music Research since 2001, and in 2004, was a founding member of BeatZentrale e.V., a society that seeks to grant assistance to young pop and rock music bands. Since 2010, he is chairman of a Leipzig regional committee titled “Jugend musiziert” (youth makes music).
