Sebastian Edathy, born on the 5th of September 2969 in Hannover, is a German politician as a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in the German Bundestag.

Political Career[edit]

From 1990 until 1993 he worked as a staff member of the Lower Saxony member of parliament (Landtag ) Bärbel Tewes. From 1993 until 1998 he was the personal assistant to the Bundestag member of parliament (Bundestag) Ernst Kastning. Member of the service employees’ union Verdi, of the workers welfare, the social group Germany and of Amnesty International. Since 1990 he is member of the Social Democratic Union (SPD). From 1993 until 1995 he has been chairman of the Young Socialists in the area of Nienburg. Since 1993 he has been a member of the SPD sub district board; he is deputy chairman of the German-Indian Parliamentary Group. Since 1998 he is a member of the Bundestag and a board member of the SPD.

Education[edit]

Sebastian Edathy did his Abitur in Hannover in 1989. Following his civil service from 1989 until 1990 he studied Sociology and German linguistics (M.A.) at the University of Hannover.
