Repsol is a major integrated energy company which operates in more than 30 countries worldwide. Its activities cover the entire oil and gas chain, from exploration and production, refining, distribution and marketing to petrochemicals, power generation and trading of resources.

Engagement in Cultural Diplomacy[edit]

Repsol is involved in cultural activities by supporting several environmental, sport and charitable activities. In 2011 the Company constructed the world's first service station certified by BREEAM . The building of the station was completed according to green architecture parameters. As well, Newsweek Magazine named Repsol the most environmentally respectful energy company of 2012.

Grants and Scholarships[edit]

In order to help future specialists Repsol offers approximately 1,900 scholarships each year to university students from all areas of study, including Engineering, Accounting, Marketing, Advertising, Systems, Economy and Finance, and so forth.

Cooperation with Universities[edit]

Repsol cooperates with universities in order to promote the education of young professionals who want to continue their careers in energy and production for instance, with Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh , Scotland.

Promoting Human- and Civil Rights[edit]

Repsol respects human rights following the guidance set out in the United Nations "Protect, Respect and Remedy" framework and its Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. „Repsol has been a member of the United Nations Global Compact since 2002, and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Global Compact Network Spain since 2012. A range of communication and awareness activities were carried out in 2013, both inside and outside the company, to promote a culture of respect for human rights among our employees and stakeholders.“ (Repsol, 2014)

Activities in the Field of Humanitarian Aid[edit]

Repsol is actively involved in various charity programs and helps people with disabilities. For instance, the Repsol Foundation in cooperation with Varela Producciones and the Blanca Marsillach Company has been organizing the interactive theatre programme for people with disabilities for the last five years in order to bring the performing arts to everyone. “In Erfoud and Hassi, Morocco, the Repsol Foundation has donated wheelchairs, crutches and tricycles adapted for the severely disabled so that 200 people can regain mobility deprived them until now by a lack or resources. Repsol also continued working with the FEAPS Madrid "More culture, more inclusion" project, aiming to promote culture as a tool for social transformation of people with disabilities, by creating a model of inclusive culture, combining methodologies of professionals working with disabilities and those working in culture, and creating spaces for them to work together.“ (Repsol, 2014)

Supporting Sports[edit]

Repsol has been the main sponsor of the Repsol Honda Team for the last 20 years, making it the longest partnership between a sponsor and manufacturer in World Motorcycling Championship history (Repsol, 2014).
