Maria de Belém Roseira

Maria de Belém Roseira Martins Coelho Henriques de Pina was born on July 28th, 1949. She is a judge that currently practices as a deputy in the Portuguese National Parliament.

Political Career[edit]

She is a member of the Socialist Party, and one of the oldest deputies serving in the Portuguese Parliament. She held positions such as Health Minister from 1995 to 1999, and Minister for Equality in 1999 and 2000. She was also Vice-President of the World Health Organization General Assembly in 1997 and President in 1999. She was member of the Parliamentarian Group for Friendship between Portugal-Poland, Portugal-Italy, Portugal-United Kingdom, Portugal-Cape Green, Portugal-China and Portugal-Mozambique. Presently.

Maria de Belém Roseira is a Law graduate from the University of Coimbra.
