Nicos Katsourides was born in Nicosia in 1951.He is a Greek/Cypriot politician and economist.

Political Career[edit]

He is Representative of Nicosia constituency under the banner of AKEL-Left-New Forces since 1991. He served as Parliamentary Spokesman of AKEL-Left-New Forces for 10 years(2003-2013),Member of the Committee of Selection,and as Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Internal Affairs. He also served as First Vice-president of the delegation of the House to the EU-Cyprus Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). He is currently serves as Parliamentary Spokesman of AKEL-Left-New Forces,Deputy Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Defence Affairs, and Member of the House Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs since January 2014, of the Ad Hoc House Committee on Rules of Procedure and full member of the Special House Committee on Declaration and Examination of Financial Interests.

Education[edit]

Nicos Katsourides graduated in Economics (PhD in Bulgaria) in the field of Planning and Administration of the National Economy with specialisation in Ideology and Propaganda.He speaks English and Bulgarian.
