Karin Evers-Meyer

Karin Evers-Meyer is a member of the SPD and was born on September 10, 1949 in Neuenburg, Germany. She is a journalist and author by profession.

Political Career[edit]

Evers-Meyer has been member of the SPD since 1978. From 1997 to 2001, she was a councillor of the Zetel municipality and deputy mayor. Since 1986, she has been a member of the Friesland County Council. From 1994 to 2003, she worked as volunteer district administrator of the district of Friesland and from 1998 to October 2002, Evers-Meyer was a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament. From 2005 to November 2009, she was the Federal Government Commissioner for Matters Related to Disabled People. She has been a Defence Committee member since 2002. Since 2005, she has been a deputy defense spokesman of the SPD parliamentary group. Evers-Meyer has been a member of the Bundestag since of 2002.

Education[edit]

Evers-Meyer is a qualified business administrator, and has held various positions in the Academiy of Arts of Berlin.
