Jerzy Wenderlich

Jerzy Wenderlich – (born on 22nd April 1954 in Toruń, Poland) is a Polish politician, Member of Parliament since 1993 (II, III, IV, V, VI and VII term) and a Deputy Speaker of the Parliament (VI and VII term).

Political Career[edit]

In 1993, 1997, 2001 and 2005 she won the mandate of a Member of Parliament for the Democratic Left Alliance (Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej). He was the spokesperson for the SLD and has written a book “How to become a minister?”.

In the parliamentary elections in 2007 he was a candidate from the list of the Left and Democrats coalition in the district of Toruń for the fifth time. In April 2008 he sat in the Club of Deputies Left. In July 2010 he was the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament (VI term).

In the parliamentary elections in 2011, he was once again the leader of the Democratic Left Alliance list to the Parliament in the district of Toruń and was re-elected an MP. In November 2011 he was elected as a Deputy Speaker of Parliament (VII term). In September 2014, as the oldest member of the Presidium of the Parliament, he took statutory duties of the Speaker of Parliament after the resignation of Ewa Kopacz function as a Speaker of the Parliament until the election of a successor.

Education[edit]

He graduated from the Faculty of Education at the Pedagogical University of Bydgoszcz. He graduated in postgraduate studies - journalism and political science from Warsaw University.
