Jason Azzopardi
Jason Azzopardi is a member of Parliament of the Republic of Malta.
Political Career[edit]
Azzopardi was involved in the Nationalist Party since his youth and was first elected to Parliament in 1998, and subsequently re-elected in 2003 and in 2008. During the 10th Legislature he served as Chairman of the Foreign and European Affairs Committee, as a member of the Privileges Committee, and as Head of Maltese Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE. Following the 2008 general elections, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Revenues and Land in the Ministry of Finance, Economy and Investment. During the 11th Legislature he served as Minister for Fair Competition, Small Business and Consumers. Azzopardi was re-elected to Parliament in the 2013 General Elections.
Education[edit]
Jason Azzopardi was born in 1971. In 1994, he graduated as a Public Notary and in 1996 as Doctor of Laws after which he started practising as a Criminal Lawyer in the Courts of Malta. In 1996 Azzopardi also obtained a Masters degree in Financial Services from the University of Malta.
