Jasen Mesić

Jasen Mesić was born on 11 June 1972 in Zagreb, Croatia. He is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ; Croatian: Hrvatska demokratska zajednica) and has been a member of the Croatian Parliament (Hrvatski sabor) during its sixth and seventh term.

Political Career[edit]

Mesić served as the Croatian Minister of Culture between 2010 and 2011. His second mandate in the Croatian Parliament began on 22 December 2011. He is a deputy chairperson of the Education, Science and Culture Committee, a member of the Foreign Policy Committee, a member of the Tourism Committee, a member of the Interparliamentary Co-operation Committee, a member of the Committee on Information, Computerisation and the Media, and a member of the Delagation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.

Education[edit]

Mesić graduated in history and archeology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb in 1996 and later in submarine archeology at Accademia per metodologia e tecnica di archeologia subacquea in Italy. Subsequently he attained his master's degree at the University of Siena.
