Term describing current economic, social and technological trends in the post-industrial era as result of the development of Information and Communication Technologies. In the second half of the 20th century the digitization of information vehicles led to dramatic reductions in the cost of obtaining, processing, storing, and transmitting information in all forms. The Information Revolution is considered to be one of the main determining factors in the process of globalization.
