On 5th August, the Embassy of India in Berlin hosted the first meeting of the Indian Professional Forum: an event aiming to foster dialogue between the two countries on thematic issues.

Members and experts from the Indian professional community in Germany gathered at the beginning of August to discuss how to improve engagements between India and Germany in the field of IT. The meeting took place under the auspices of the Embassy of India in Berlin as a part of the Indian Professional Forum. The event was specifically focused on the subject of Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things.

One of the main themes of the event was India’s recent progress in the field of IT, having recently demonstrated its potential to become the next digital factory of the world. For this reason, more and more German companies are looking towards India for technological collaboration. Attracting greater investments by German small and medium-sized enterprises was another key issued discussed, as outlined by H. E. Ambassador Gurjit Singh.

The event is the first of its kind as the Indian Professional Forum was only launched earlier this year. It was begun by the Embassy of India at Berlin as a dialogue mechanism aiming to leverage the presence of Indian professionals in Germany, further improve the image of India, promote the national initiative of the Indian government and to outline again the strong corporate cultural diplomacy between the two countries.
