Copenhagen School (International Politics)[edit]

Associated with the academics Barry Buzan, Ole Waever, and Jaap de Wilde, the Copenhagen School theory emphasizes the social aspects of security. It focuses on key concepts such as the role of sectors, regional security complexes, and securitization. The Copenhagen School takes an analytical approach to security studies and focuses on the consequences of invoking security, particularly in relation to non-military issues.
