Chrysanthos Lazaridis

Chrysanthos Lazaridis was born in New York in 1954. He is a journalist, mathematician, strategic analyst and economist. He is regarded as the Prime Minister’s key and confidant consultant.

Political Career[edit]

He actively participated in the struggle against Junta as a student of Economics and Law and was a member of the Steering Committee at the Polytechnic uprising. He was arrested by Ioannidis Junta because of his participation in the events of the Polytechnic, tortured in EAT-ESA and remained in prison until the fall of Junta in the summer of 1974. He suffered very cruel tortures and beatings by EAT-ESA men and was hospitalized in critical condition in Papamakaristos hospital. In 2012 elections he was elected as a member of the parliament, having been included on the ballot of New Democracy.

Education[edit]

In 1980, he attended the London School of Economics for postgraduate studies in Economics with specialization in Monetary Theory and Operational Research. He then went back to the place of his birth, New York to achieve a PhD in Econometrics from the City University and ended his educational career after studying Modern Theory Analysis at Courant School of Applied Mathematics. Among others, he dealt with Game Theory and its implications on international relations, conflicts, chaos theory and analysis which has affinities with quantum wave functions.
