On the 2000 Cannes Film Festival, the company gave multimillion dollar budget, many cars for Hollywood´s biggest and hottest names as Guy Ritchie, Lee, Wong, Frankenheimer to shoot short action ads of BMW. „The Hire“ short films had a great success. Currently BMW is sponsor of Origin Film Festival and is a long-term partner of the Münich International Film Festival.

BMW was official sponsor of the London Olympic Games in 2012 and of the Paralympics, by providing 400 BMW and MINI models and also has a contract with the United States Olympic Committee.
