August 29th, 2016

During summer 2016 Austrian artist, Robert Bodnar, has chosen to work on the topic of Berlin’s former borders. A special technique involving the use of light makes it possible to visualize former borders. For those interested the exhibition, supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Berlin, gives a retrospective view.

Austria‘s official representations, including embassies, frequently have accompanying cultural forums. These forums appear as official cultural representations of Austria, including the Austrian Cultural Forum in Berlin which regularly organizes exhibitions, concerts, readings, symposia and further cultural initiatives.

Both this and other Austrian Cultural Forums serve as platforms for cultural exchange and intercultural cooperation between artists, scientists, visitors and other interested organizations. In this way Austria seeks to promote its cultural heritage and to improve bilateral relations with other countries. For that reason, the Austrian Cultural Forum in Berlin invites those interested to the vernissage of Robert Bodnar on September 13th 2016.

Bodnar is a young Austrian artist who traveled throughout Berlin, a place shaped by history and cultural encounters. During his expeditions he carried a fluorescent tube which draws traces on the film of time exposures. In doing so, he created a series of photographs in which the light visualizes the courses of the border. Within this solo exhibition Bodnar’s works can be visited at the Austrian Cultural Forum until October 24th 2016.
