Alexander Henry Scrymgeour

Alexander Henry Scrymgeour, 12th Earl of Dundee (born 5 June 1949) is a Scottish peer and Conservative member of the House of Lords.

Political Career[edit]

Alexander Scrymgeour was created a Lord on the 28th October 1983. He has held a number of positions within Parliament including: Consolidation Bills from 2014, Public Service and Demographic Change Com-mittee 2012-13, EU Sub-Committee D - Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment 2007-12, EU Sub-Committee G - Social Policies and Consumer Protection 2003-07, Consolidation Bills from 1999, EU Sub-Committee F - Home Affairs 1998-99, EU Sub-Committee F - Home Affairs 1997-98 and the EU Sub-Committee A - Eco-nomic and Financial Affairs, and International Trade 1990-93.

Education[edit]

He was educated at Eton College and the University of St Andrews.

Notable Work[edit]

He has served as the UK delegate to the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe from 1992-97. He was also a Member of the Council of Europe parliament and the Western European parliament from 1992-99. The Earl is honorary consul of Croatia in Edinburgh, and is decorated with the Order of Prince Branimir.
